HGV Class 1 Driver

Full-Time, Permanent 

Base Location: Driffield, Yorkshire (with UK Travel)

Salary: £45,000 per annum 

Shifts: Monday - Friday - Rota scheduled fortnightly to work 9-hour shifts between the hours of (04:00 - 16:00)

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of funeral resources, coffins, and related equipment to our various locations across the UK. This position plays a crucial part in ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles to transport funeral-related items between locations.
  • Ensure all deliveries and collections are carried out with professionalism and respect.
  • Plan and manage routes to meet delivery deadlines while adhering to all road safety regulations.
  • Complete paperwork and logbooks accurately.
  • Carry out vehicle checks and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Liaise with the funeral operations team to ensure smooth logistical coordination.
  • This position is wagon & drag including body swaps on shift as and when needed.

This role is ideal for a candidate who has:

  • Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving license.
  • Driver CPC qualification and up-to-date Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Strong understanding of UK road networks and HGV driving regulations.
  • Willingness to stay overnight at least twice a week.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Professional and respectful demeanour, especially given the nature of the business.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with varied teams and individuals across our business.
