Enfield Crematorium and Tottenham Cemetery are situated in North London and serve the London Borough of Enfield and surrounding areas. You will be primarily based at Tottenham Cemetery with support at Enfield Crematorium when required.

We take great care to create a peaceful and tranquil environment in our chapels and gardens of remembrance for people to visit and pay their respects to loved ones.
To enable us to continue to support our local communities and maintain our grounds, we are currently recruiting four additional grounds people to our team at Tottenham Cemetery reporting to our Head Groundsperson.
What Will I Be Doing as a Groundsperson?
As a Groundsperson, you will be carrying out a full range of gardening & horticultural tasks, which mainly include mowing, strimming, weeding, and ensuring the area is presentable for our clients.
Other duties will include:
- Take care of the grounds, keeping them maintained and presentable.
- Make sure graves are dug appropriately for the deceased and maintain graves as needed for the friends and family of the deceased.
- Clear the grounds, paths, and roadways of litter.
- Dealing with visitors' enquiries.
- Carry out any other duties when reasonably requested to do so by your Line Manager.
What Do I Need?
- Horticultural/ gardening/grounds keeping experience is advantageous
- Experience in operating mechanical gardening equipment is advantageous, although training can be provided for this
- Physically able to hand dig as well as using machinery.
- Is comfortable with manual handling tasks
- Excellent attention to detail is essential
- Good communication skills
- Hard-working and willing to apply yourself
- Comfortable working in a team or carrying out tasks by yourself
