Business Leader Amy Groves is looking to recruit a dedicated and compassionate individual to join her team as a Cremator Technician at Grenoside Crematorium, serving the local community of Sheffield.

This is a full time permanent role working 40 hours per week with an annual salary of £26,416.00 Standard working hours are Monday - Friday 10:00am - 19:00pm however, the successful candidate will have the flexibility to work 5 out of 7 days per week (occasional Saturdays) during the hours of 07:00am - 19:00pm when needed.

The role will provide the opportunity to become trained as a Cremator Technician, allowing you to gain certification in the handling of our ancillary equipment. 

As Cremator Technician, the priority will be to maintain a high-quality environment that will give clients and visitors a sense of tranquillity, reflect excellent standards of care and sensitivity, and ensure the safe handling of all our gas-fired and/or electric cremators and ancillary equipment.

Further duties will include:               

  • Operating cremators and ancillary equipment in accordance with manufacturers' guidelines (Full Training will be provided for this).
  • Ensuring the safe custody of cremated remains left in the care of the Crematorium.
  • Keeping a log of records on the computer to comply with the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
  • Logging of repairs and maintenance to ensure that the cremators and ancillary equipment are maintained to the highest standard.
  • Keeping stock records of poly urns and assisting in the keeping of other records by computer.
  • Ensuring Crematory and associated rooms must be kept clean and clear of hazards at all times.
  • Following the Code of Cremation Practice (FBCA) are ahered to.

 

 What do we look for?

  • Willing to attend a Cremator Technicians training course (Essential).
  • Hold a Full UK Driving License - Driving will be a part of this role for training and covering workloads at local crematoriums (mileage will be paid for).
  • Committed to providing excellent client service at all times. 
  • Is comfortable with manual handling tasks.
  • Excellent attention to detail is (Essential).
  • Good communication skills.
  • Have the willingness to be multi-skilled in different areas of the business.
