📍 Location: Maidenhead, Berkshire (Hybrid / 3 days per week in office)

As our Risk and Compliance Director, you will be at the forefront of providing expert risk and compliance advice, ensuring robust governance arrangements, and embedding a culture of risk awareness throughout the organization. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our compliance framework, managing risks, and maintaining regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading the provision of commercially focussed pragmatic Risk and Compliance advice.
  • Providing framework of robust governance arrangements which include clear structure, effective processes to identify, manage, monitor, and report data protection-related risks.
  • Defining and delivering the monitoring plan, including supporting external Compliance Reviews for the regulated parameter.
  • Conducting horizon scanning to keep the business updated on regulatory changes and updates
  • Providing regulatory training
  • Leading the creation, implementation, and management of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and lead communications with regulators.
  • Ensuring appropriate financial crime policies are in place.
  • Creating and implementing an Operational Resilience Framework.
  • Building and embedding a risk awareness culture within the organization.
  • Providing leadership and direction to the Risk & Compliance team. This includes setting clear goals aligned with company objectives, conducting regular performance reviews, addressing skills gaps and fostering a collaborative culture.

This role is ideal for a candidate who:

  • Has previous experience of working in a Senior Risk & Compliance role, within a regulated environment (FCA & CMA)
  • Holds a degree or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrates strong operational and commercial awareness
  • Has a working knowledge of the FCA handbook and CMA framework.
  • Can simplify complex regulatory issues and provide pragmatic solutions
  • Strategic thinker who can articulate complex governance solutions to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advocates for collaboration and the collective pursuit of goals.
  • Is customer-centric, diplomatic, and effective in resolving issues.
  • Is an experienced leader skilled in delegating responsibilities, setting objectives, inspiring high-performing teams, and providing effective coaching and mentoring.
