Position: Commercial Finance Manager - Crematoria
Location: Maidenhead (Hybrid: 3 office days, 2 from home)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum
At Dignity, we're transforming our business to build the UK's leading end-of-life services provider. As part of this journey, we're investing in stronger decision-making, sharper commercial insight and improved financial performance across our crematoria division.
We're now looking for a Commercial Finance Manager to partner closely with our Crematoria Managing Director and leadership team. This is an opportunity to move beyond reporting and become a trusted advisor, helping shape strategy, improve performance and support growth across a key area of the business.
If you're a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys influencing decisions, challenging stakeholders and turning data into meaningful business insight, this could be your next career step.
The Opportunity
Reporting into senior finance leadership, you'll act as the key Finance Business Partner for our Crematoria division, supporting operational and strategic decision-making through high-quality analysis, forecasting and commercial insight.
You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, providing financial clarity, identifying opportunities and helping the organisation make informed decisions that drive sustainable growth and performance.
You'll be responsible for:
- Acting as the trusted Finance Business Partner to the Crematoria Managing Director and leadership team.
- Analysing financial and operational performance across P&L and capital expenditure.
- Leading budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning activities.
- Developing robust financial models and business cases to support investment decisions.
- Delivering clear, commercial insight to influence strategic and operational decision-making.
- Supporting board-level reporting and monthly performance reviews.
- Identifying risks, opportunities and performance drivers across the division.
- Improving reporting, KPIs and data-driven decision-making capabilities across the business.
Why this role is different
This isn't a traditional finance role focused solely on reporting.
You'll sit at the heart of the business, partnering directly with operational leaders and helping shape the future direction of a significant part of the organisation. You'll have the opportunity to influence strategic decisions, support investment plans and directly contribute to commercial performance.
As the business continues to evolve, you'll play a key role in ensuring financial insight drives better decisions and stronger outcomes.
This role offers genuine visibility, influence and the opportunity to make a measurable impact on business performance.
What you'll bring
We're looking for a commercially focused finance professional who combines strong analytical capability with excellent stakeholder management skills and can bring:
- Significant experience in Finance Business Partnering or Commercial Finance roles.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations.
- Advanced experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and scenario analysis.
- Proven ability to analyse business performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Experience supporting senior stakeholders within operational or multi-site environments.
- Strong understanding of performance metrics, KPIs and commercial drivers.
- The confidence to influence, challenge and support leadership teams.
- Professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent).
You'll be someone who
- Enjoys solving complex commercial challenges.
- Sees beyond the numbers and focuses on business outcomes.
- Builds credibility quickly and establishes trusted relationships.
- Communicates financial information clearly and confidently.
- Challenges constructively whilst maintaining strong stakeholder partnerships.
- Uses data and insight to identify opportunities and influence decisions.
- Thrives in fast-paced environments where priorities evolve, and business needs change.
