The way we attract talent matters…
At Dignity, we're investing in the future of our business, our colleagues and the communities we serve. As our Head of Talent Acquisition, you'll lead the next chapter of that journey.
This role is about more than filling vacancies. It's about creating a recruitment experience that reflects who we are, building talent pipelines for the future, strengthening our employer brand and helping our leaders attract exceptional people into meaningful careers.
If you're passionate about improving experiences, building capability and leading positive change, we'd love to hear from you.
The Opportunity
Talent acquisition has a critical role to play in Dignity's future.
As we continue to evolve as a business, we're looking for a leader who can help shape the future of talent acquisition at Dignity. This is an opportunity to influence how we attract, engage and hire talent across the organisation, whilst building the capability and talent pipelines we'll need for the future.
Joining us at a pivotal point in our journey, you'll help strengthen our recruitment foundations, enhance our employer brand and create experiences that reflect the quality, care and professionalism we're known for. Working closely with senior leaders across the business, you'll balance operational excellence with long-term transformation, bringing the vision, commercial thinking and leadership needed to drive meaningful change.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building, improving and influencing, and who can combine strategic thinking with a practical, hands-on approach to delivery.
What You'll Be Leading
Rather than inheriting a function and maintaining the status quo, you'll have the opportunity to shape what great looks like.
Creating a Talent Acquisition Function Fit for the Future
- You'll define the direction of talent acquisition for Dignity, ensuring our approach supports both current hiring needs and future workforce priorities. From strategy and structure to technology and process, you'll help create a function that is efficient, scalable and built around delivering value to the business.
Strengthening Our Employer Brand
- You'll help us tell our story more effectively, developing a compelling employer proposition that reflects who we are, what we stand for and the opportunities available within our business. You'll ensure candidates experience Dignity in a way that is engaging, professional and authentic from first contact through to onboarding.
Improving the Way We Hire
- Whether it's through data, technology, process improvement or better ways of working, you'll be focused on continuously improving outcomes. You'll use insight to identify opportunities, challenge inefficiencies and drive measurable improvements in recruitment performance and experience.
Developing Exceptional Recruitment Capability
- You'll lead and develop our recruitment team, creating clarity, accountability and a high-performance culture. You'll also work closely with hiring managers across the organisation, helping to build confidence, consistency and capability in recruitment decision-making.
Building Talent Pipelines for Tomorrow
- A key part of the role will be shaping our apprenticeship and future talent approach, ensuring we maximise opportunities to develop internal capability and create sustainable pathways into the business.
You’ll Excel in This Role Is You
- Enjoy building capability, improving ways of working and leaving things better than they were found.
- Are comfortable balancing strategic direction with hands-on delivery and operational leadership.
- Bring credibility and influence when working with senior leaders and challenging established thinking.
- Focus on outcomes, translating ideas into practical solutions that deliver measurable impact.
- See talent acquisition as a strategic business function that shapes organisational capability and performance.
- Value candidate, hiring manager and colleague experience equally, recognising the role each plays in attracting great talent.
- Thrive in environments where there is scope to shape, influence and drive meaningful change.
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Significant leadership experience within an in-house Talent Acquisition or Recruitment function, with accountability for strategy, performance and service delivery.
- Experience operating across a multi-site, geographically dispersed organisation, supporting diverse hiring demands and stakeholder groups.
- A proven track record of transforming recruitment functions, including improvements to processes, systems, governance, reporting and overall operating models.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing recruitment teams, creating clear standards, accountability and capability.
- Strong employer brand and EVP experience, with evidence of improving attraction strategies and candidate engagement.
- Experience leveraging recruitment technology, data and market insight to drive measurable improvements in quality, efficiency and hiring outcomes.
- The credibility and commercial acumen to partner with senior leaders, influence decision-making and challenge constructively where required.
- Experience developing talent pipelines and future workforce solutions, including apprenticeships, early careers or workforce planning initiatives.
- A balance of strategic thinking and operational delivery, with the ability to translate vision into practical, sustainable outcomes.

Why Dignity
Dignity exists to help every family in Britain navigate the hardest moments of life with simplicity, dignity, kindness and exceptional care. Our vision is to become the UK’s leading end-of-life company, supporting one in three families across the UK in planning for and dealing with death.
This is what makes Dignity such a compelling place to join, and why the timing matters. We are not simply improving an existing business; we are reshaping and building a modern, end-to-end platform that supports families through every stage of need: wills, funeral plans, funerals, probate, cremations, burials, and memorialisation. We are moving from transactional interactions to trusted, lifelong relationships, using data, technology, service design and brilliant people to create a simpler, more human experience at scale.
We are at a defining moment in our history. A strategic reset, stronger foundations, and new leadership have created real momentum and, with it, a genuine opportunity not just to transform Dignity but to set a new standard for the whole sector. The funeral industry has historically moved slowly. We are changing that. This is a business with the scale to matter, the ambition to lead, and the courage to challenge how things have always been done. The direction is set. The platform is being built. What we need now are the leaders to drive it forward.
For exceptional leaders, that creates a rare opportunity: the chance to build something of genuine significance, to shape the future of an industry that touches every family in Britain, and to do work that is both commercially meaningful and deeply purposeful. Very few roles offer that combination. Fewer still offer it at this scale.
We move with pace and intent. The people here care about getting it right for families, for each other, and for the long term. If you want to lead in an environment where quality of thinking is valued, where decisions get made, and where your contribution has a visible impact, this is that place.
