Creative Designer (Campaigns)
Location: Maidenhead, Berkshire, Hybrid Flexible Working (3 days in the office, 2 from home)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum + benefits
Most people would rather not think about their own funeral. Your job is to change that.
We're looking for an ideas-led Creative Designer to work on campaigns that help people plan ahead, talk openly about death and make a choice that's right for them and their family. You'll be one of the first creative hires in Life Services Group, our new parent company, so you'll help shape how our brands look, sound and show up in the world. Most of your time will be spent on Simplicity, our affordable funeral plans brand. But you will have opportunities to work on briefs for our other brands too.
Death is part of life, and we are building brands that are warm, honest and brave enough to say so. This role is an opportunity to do something different in a sector that hasn’t changed for decades.
About us
Life Services Group brings together some of the UK's best-known names in end-of-life care: Dignity, Simplicity Cremations, The Crematorium and Memorial Group, and Farewill. Together we help around 200,000 families every year, with 3,000 colleagues across 585 sites and 45 crematoria.
Simplicity offers funeral plans and direct cremations with clear prices, no hidden fees and the freedom to say goodbye in your own way. It's a growing brand in a category that's changing fast, as more people choose simpler, more personal funerals.
We talk about death plainly, becauseit's part of life. Our tone is warm, honest and optimistic, never clinical and never hollow.
What you'll do
- Come up with the big ideas. Turn briefs, customer insight and data into campaign concepts, then bring them to life across social, video, digital ads, email, web, print and out-of-home.
- Make the work, not just the deck. You'll design, art direct and get hands-on, taking ideas all the way from sketch to launch. A big part of the role is turning ideas into high-quality assets for paid and organic channels, and adapting them across formats, platforms and audiences.
- Test and learn. Work with the marketing team to see what's landing and use what you learn to make the next idea even stronger.
- Evolve the Simplicity brand. Help shape how Simplicity looks and feels, including how we use illustration, photography and graphic devices, to create a distinctive visual language that's ours alone.
- Bring other brands along. Over time, you'll work across our other brands too, moving confidently between each one's visual identity, audience and tone. You'll know when to follow a brand closely and when there's an opportunity to push it forward.
- Share and present ideas. Lead ideation sessions, present concepts to stakeholders and art direct photographers, illustrators or agencies when needed.
- Keep it right. Funeral plans are regulated by the FCA, so you'll work with our compliance team to make sure brave ideas are also clear, fair and honest.
What you'll bring
- A portfolio full of ideas. Show us campaigns you came up with, not just assets you made, and tell us the thinking behind them.
- Agency or in-house experience as an art director or creative designer, ideally around 3 to 6 years.
- Strong craft in layout, typography and art direction, and confidence with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Curiosity about people. You care about what makes people stop, think and act, and you like using data and research to sharpen your ideas.
- Sensitivity and courage. You can handle a difficult subject with warmth and honesty, without being sombre or shying away from it.
- Comfort presenting and taking feedback, and the confidence to push back when an idea is worth fighting for.
Nice to have:
- Experience in a regulated industry like financial services, insurance or healthcare, or a background in brand-led challenger businesses.
- Motion and video skills, or a real appetite to grow them. Social-first work is a big part of the role.

Why Life Services Group
Life Services Group exists to help every family in Britain navigate the hardest moments of life. We bring together trusted names across funeral services, crematoria and cemeteries, legal services, direct cremation and wills, including Dignity Funeral Directors, CMG, Simplicity Cremations, Dignity Legal Services and Farewill, so families can get more of the support they need in one place.
Our ambition is to support one in three families across the UK as they plan for, navigate and deal with death. We want to set a new standard for care, service and simplicity across the sector.
Death is part of life, and being there for families when it matters is what we do. That means making difficult moments feel more supported, more straightforward and more human.
We are building a modern group that supports families at every stage, from planning ahead with wills and funeral plans, to arranging a funeral, cremation or burial, and managing probate afterwards. This is a defining moment for our business. With stronger foundations, clearer strategy and real momentum, we can change end-of-life care for the better. We are modernising how we work, investing in our colleagues and technology, and helping more families than any one brand could alone.
Wherever you work in Life Services Group, in one of our local teams, specialist brands or group functions, you'll be part of work with meaningful purpose. You will help families through some of life's hardest and most important moments.
Across all our brands, we want colleagues to grow with us through better training, stronger support, modern tools and clearer opportunities to build skills and confidence. You'll be part of teams who care deeply about what they do, look out for each other and take pride in doing work that matters.
You will also help shape the future of end-of-life care. That means making support simpler, more connected and more human for families, while each brand keeps the identity, expertise and community connection people already know and trust.
If you want a career with meaningful purpose, room to grow with us and the chance to shape the future, find your Life's work.
