Product Designer (Growth)
Location: Maidenhead, Berkshire, Hybrid Flexible Working (3 days in the office, 2 from home)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum + benefits
Planning a funeral is one of the hardest things anyone does online. Your job is to make it a little easier.
We're looking for a Product Designer to help more people find, choose and buy the right funeral plan, simply and with confidence. You'll be one of the first design hires in Life Services Group, our new parent company, working mostly on Simplicity, our affordable funeral plans and direct cremation brand.
You'll sit between product and marketing, improving the journeys people take from first click to finished plan, and testing what really helps. Death is part of life, and we think the experience of planning for it should be clear, kind and easy.
About us
Life Services Group brings together some of the UK's best-known names in end-of-life care: Dignity, Simplicity Cremations, The Crematorium and Memorial Group, and Farewill. Together we help around 200,000 families every year, with 3,000 colleagues across 585 sites and 45 crematoria.
Simplicity offers funeral plans and direct cremations with clear prices, no hidden fees and the freedom to say goodbye in your own way. It's a growing brand in a category that's changing fast, as more people choose simpler, more personal funerals.
We talk about death plainly, becauseit's part of life. Our tone is warm, honest and optimistic, never clinical and never hollow.
What you'll do
- Improve the whole journey. Design how people discover Simplicity, compare plans, get a quote, check out and come back.
- Find the friction. Use research, analytics and customer feedback to spot where people get stuck or drop out, and why.
- Test and learn. Work with our Performance Marketing Lead to plan and design A/B tests and experiments and turn what you learn into the next improvement.
- Make good ideas real. Take work from rough sketches and prototypes through to polished, accessible designs that engineers can build.
- Bridge product and marketing. Work with marketing and our Creative Designer, so campaigns and landing pages feel like one joined-up experience.
- Be thoughtful about growth. Help people choose what's right for them. We want more people to plan ahead, but never through pressure, tricks or dark patterns.
- Keep it right. Funeral plans are regulated by the FCA, so you'll work with our compliance team to make sure journeys are clear, fair and honest.
- Strengthen our design system. Use and improve our shared components so every brand stays consistent and easy to build.
What you'll bring
- A portfolio that shows impact. Walk us through journeys you've improved: the problem, what you tried, what you tested and what changed as a result.
- Product design experience, ideally 3 to 6 years, including time working on conversion, sign-up, checkout or onboarding.
- Experience with experimentation. You're comfortable designing A/B tests, working with data and knowing when a result is worth acting on.
- Strong interaction and visual craft in Figma, with an eye for clear content and accessible design.
- Research skills. You enjoy talking to customers and turning what you hear into better design.
- Great collaboration with product managers, engineers, data and marketing teams.
- Care and judgement. You can design for people at a difficult time with warmth and honesty, and you'll speak up when something doesn't feel right for them.
Nice to have: experience in a regulated industry like financial services, insurance or healthcare, or with marketing websites built on a CMS.

Why Life Services Group
Life Services Group exists to help every family in Britain navigate the hardest moments of life. We bring together trusted names across funeral services, crematoria and cemeteries, legal services, direct cremation and wills, including Dignity Funeral Directors, CMG, Simplicity Cremations, Dignity Legal Services and Farewill, so families can get more of the support they need in one place.
Our ambition is to support one in three families across the UK as they plan for, navigate and deal with death. We want to set a new standard for care, service and simplicity across the sector.
Death is part of life, and being there for families when it matters is what we do. That means making difficult moments feel more supported, more straightforward and more human.
We are building a modern group that supports families at every stage, from planning ahead with wills and funeral plans, to arranging a funeral, cremation or burial, and managing probate afterwards. This is a defining moment for our business. With stronger foundations, clearer strategy and real momentum, we can change end-of-life care for the better. We are modernising how we work, investing in our colleagues and technology, and helping more families than any one brand could alone.
Wherever you work in Life Services Group, in one of our local teams, specialist brands or group functions, you'll be part of work with meaningful purpose. You will help families through some of life's hardest and most important moments.
Across all our brands, we want colleagues to grow with us through better training, stronger support, modern tools and clearer opportunities to build skills and confidence. You'll be part of teams who care deeply about what they do, look out for each other and take pride in doing work that matters.
You will also help shape the future of end-of-life care. That means making support simpler, more connected and more human for families, while each brand keeps the identity, expertise and community connection people already know and trust.
If you want a career with meaningful purpose, room to grow with us and the chance to shape the future, find your Life's work.
