Administration/Memorial Consultant

Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm

Location: Surrey and Sussex Crematorium 

Salary: OTE Salary of up to £30,000 per annum

This role will suit someone who:

  • Committed to building relationships with the clients and the general public and has a passion for customer service.
  • Completed full time education to an acceptable standard e.g. GCSE
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to interact comfortably and confidently with clients face to face, on the telephone and via email.
  • Administrative abilities, coupled with meticulous attention to detail, to ensure strict adherence to regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Good numeracy, literacy and basic computer skills
  • At least average reasoning ability

Here is what a typical day could look like for you:

Client Service Excellence

  • Input information into a computer, using the COMPASS system or any successive system that the company may introduce
  • Ensure consistent delivery of the highest levels of client service and provision of all aspects of ‘Helping our Clients Every Step of the Way’
  • Produce various letters and invoices for clients as required and answer queries when appropriate to assist clients in selecting a memorial
  • Provide support to a defined number of branches, assisting them with client queries concerning prospective memorial orders or those currently in progress
  • Complete administration for the entire memorial ordering process – providing estimates and reports to prospective clients; requesting permits from cemetery authorities; organising and checking of proofs; placing and checking of orders with memorial suppliers and stonemasons
  • Suggest refinements and improvements in client service to Area Manager / Memorial Manager

Operational Efficiency

  • Input information into a computer, using the COMPASS system or any successive system that the company may introduce
  • Ensure compliance to credit control, with client letters being sent at appropriate intervals and monitoring outstanding accounts against company requirements
  • Maintain accurate, indexed records of memorials
  • Identify unnecessary costs and recommend controls to Line Manager
  • Ensure that company policy and procedures regarding the management and handling of cash is adhered to
  • Ensure that the working practices, facility, and it’s equipment are maintained to the highest standards according to Health and Safety
  • Fully comply with all Dignity’s Internal Procedures and NAFD Code of Practice
  • Attend training sessions as and when requested
  • Meet with clients to discuss their memorial requirements always ensuring that the client is well advised, informed of all options, and accurately advised of costs.
  • Coordinate and maintain good working relationships with external stakeholders and internal teams regarding memorial requests and queries.
  • Accompany the client to visit the completed memorials on-site to ensure we have met every request of the client's needs.
  • Witness and carry out interments based on the Client’s request.
  • Carry out administrative tasks relating to the processing of memorial agreements ensuring compliance with cemetery/crematorium regulations.
  • Communicate with the administration staff to ensure that they have the appropriate documentation and are aware of any further enquiries or orders.
  • Whilst the above duties will be a main part of your role, our teams work collaboratively, therefore you will be upskilled in other duties across our Crematorium Teams.
