This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in delivering an accurate and efficient service, and wants to play a role in modernising finance processes. Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, you'll support the end-to-end accounts payable function, ensuring supplier invoices, payments and queries are managed accurately and efficiently whilst maintaining strong financial controls.
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you'll be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of the accounts payable function and ensuring suppliers and internal stakeholders receive a high-quality service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing supplier invoices accurately and in line with company policies and controls.
- Managing supplier accounts and maintaining accurate records within the AP ledger.
- Performing supplier statement reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
- Investigating and resolving supplier and internal business queries.
- Supporting payment runs and ensuring payments are made accurately and on time.
- Working within the Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) environment, including Coupa.
- Supporting month-end activities, reconciliations and reporting requirements.
- Contributing to finance transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
We're interested in hearing from people who bring:
- Experience in an Accounts Payable or similar finance role.
- Experience processing invoices and managing supplier queries.
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders across the business.
- Experience using finance systems and Microsoft Excel.
- A proactive approach and a desire to improve processes and ways of working.
We'd love to hear from you if you have
- Significant payroll leadership experience in a large, complex organisation.
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, HMRC requirements and pensions administration.
- Experience managing end-to-end payroll processes and leading payroll teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the confidence to influence at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Experience with payroll systems, ideally Oracle Cloud.
- A CIPP qualification (or equivalent professional payroll qualification).
